Arborist - Live Performance

Belfast songwriter Mark McCambridge brings Arborist to Yarn, following the release of his fourth album, Looking for Love.

Intimate and atmospheric, Arborist’s music moves through love and its absence, loneliness, city streets and the harsher edges of modern life. Looking for Love is McCambridge’s first self-produced record, made largely from his home studio in Belfast, with contributions from Cameron Ralston (Bonnie Light Horseman, Hiss Golden Messenger), Eamon Ferris (The Waterboys) and engineer Ben McAuley (Van Morrison).

It follows 2023’s An Endless Sequence of Dead Zeros, recorded at Spacebomb Studios in Virginia with Matthew E. White and the Spacebomb Houseband, which won Album of the Year at the 2023 Northern Ireland Music Prize. Across his career, McCambridge has collaborated with Kim Deal of The Breeders and supported artists including Low, Cat Power, Echo and the Bunnymen and Guy Garvey.

A chance to experience one of Northern Ireland’s most distinctive songwriters in the intimate setting of Yarn.

Supporting Act: Andrew Toman

Andrew has been an established session musician for over a decade and has recently been embracing a different approach to the guitar. Drawing on influences such as Marc Ribot, Paul Brady, Martyn Heyne, John Martyn, and Roland Dyens, Andrew's compositions reflect not only his interest in the guitar but also in the nature of compositional fluidity and the challenge this presents for the performer/composer.
